Effective January 1, 2022 the property owner will be responsible for the first $10,000 (per call-out). This cap allows R.M. ratepayers to know that they will not receive a firefighting invoice that exceeds $10,000 (per call-out). If the appropriate fire department does not receive full payment for a firefighting invoice by December 31, then the amount left owing will be added to the landowner's taxes. We encourage all of our ratepayers to purchase $10,000 of firefighting insurance coverage through their home insurance.
